Rise, 2017
Tentatively titled Rise, this sculpture was commissioned for Willinga Park, which is an equestrian centre in Bawley Point.
The photo above shows the work immediately after installation. The water level will settle 50 mm below the sphere so that the sculpture hovers, just above the water surface.
Rise sits among a group of about twenty sculptures commissioned for Willinga Park. The red sculpture in the distance here, is by Japanese sculptor Haruki Uchida. The buildings that accommodate the equestrian centre, designed by Cox partners, are very impressive and are set in beautiful grounds.
The project is a testament to Terry Snow, whose vision has brought Willinga Park to this point. I would like to thank Lola DeMar who found my work on the net and introduced me to Terry. I shall post further photographs when available.
