This work, titled The Moment was made in 2016, not seen in Sydney but shown first at Porcupine Ridge in Victoria at Australian Galleries’ sculpture park.
The Moment, 2016
The work is made from 3mm and 5mm 316 stainless steel. The forms are entirely enclosed. The two tapered forms meet at an angle and touch but are not physically connected. The work was electropolished, which means the surface should remain as is for many years.
The Moment follows on from The Crossing.
Both sculptures are reluctantly vertically inclined. They both rise and fall or rise to break. There is no melancholy intent here, only an accidental one.
